Easter and Congratulations Celebration

Along with the Easter celebration we were having a congratulations party for Grandpa. He was hired as President of Greensboro College and will be moving to start his new venture in a couple weeks. We will miss Grandpa and Grandma a lot but are very proud and excited for the new adventure. Grandpa's niece held the party and along with the most amazing Easter weather, the food, company and egg hunt were wonderful. Owen and Emma had some adventures in the woods behind the house, while Aiden toddled along behind. All the cousins had fun and came away with way too many eggs. We will have chocolate for the rest of the year. TeeHee

Aiden played a lot with his new ball

One of the older boys and Aiden rolled it back and forth.

Owen was on high energy and was making his monster truck fly around.
While I ate my delicious meal, Owen decided to play with Emma's dolls.
As Omer said, this will be kept for when Owen is older.

It was hot, lemonade break.
The yard was full of eggs

Owen started off just grabbing any...
...then he started to be picky and only wanted the special eggs like the ball ones.
One basket full, the host gave out more baskets.

Cherry Blossoms

Neither Omer nor I have ever been to DC to view the cherry blossoms. Our friend was meeting there to hang out in DC for his birthday so we took the opportunity to finally go see what all the fuss was about. Well the weather was perfect, the trees were in bloom and everyone and their sister, mother, brother and father came on Easter weekend to see the trees. It was crowded! So our take, the trees were beautiful but we were both expecting more. Not sure what, just something. The kids really could have cared less. But they enjoyed looking in the water and running around. I can imagine it'll be nice to go when the kids are older and we can spend a lot of time there. But now we can say we've been and it was fun running around among all the pink petals. They also make for some great pictures.

Being a Big Brother

Owen has really started to take on the role of big brother. This can mean the super helpful loving big brother or the I'm bigger than you brother and will pick on you. But let's talk about all the adorable, wonderful acts that Owen does for Aiden.

1. I left the boys outside while I did the dishes and I look out to see Owen helping Aiden in the car and then pushing the car while Aiden giggled.
2. Owen really tries to help when Aiden is sad and will hug him and wipe his tears.
3. We were at the store the other day and Aiden knocked down something and Owen said, "I'm the big brother I'll fix it."
4. He likes when Aiden sits with him. For example at the museum the other day Owen said, "Aiden needs to ride the tractor with me so we can go on an adventure."
5. During all the snow Owen would always tell Aiden when we went out to not to eat yellow snow.
6. They love to play chase and the tickle Aiden. Aiden's favorite game.
7. Sometimes Owen will ask where Aiden is during his naps and likes to come him to wake him up.
8. They are enjoying playing together more and I often here, "When Aiden is older..." I look forward to when Aiden understands the games Owen wants to play.
9. There are often times I step away to get something from another floor and I leave Owen in charge to watch Aiden. Owen takes this very seriously and follows him around until I'm back.
10. Owen is also very helpful on letting me know or taking away anything dangerous from Aiden.

Love watching Owen be a big brother and the boys build their relationship.

Egg Hunt with Friends

As I said before the Easter egg hunt we signed up for was cancelled last weekend, so I decided to host one with my Wednesday playgroup. I had a lot of fun stuffing eggs, hiding them and getting the Easter Bunny to come. The kids all had a great time and it was wonderful fun. Owen was a egg hunting machine and stuffed his basket full. Aiden didn't even want to hold his basket, never went to find an egg this time, but did enjoy finding chocolate to eat in other kids eggs. Afterwards all the boys played and enjoyed the amazing spring weather.
