Two Little Artist's

I keep commenting on how great of a little artist Owen has become, but poor little Aiden seems to get forgotten in his art. Not that we don't appreciate it but with an older brother with obvious better skills because of age, his items do get a little less bragged about.

But with that all said Aiden actually is a better drawer than Owen was when he was 3. The little boy really does like to do crafts as well and loves more than most, coloring with chalk. With all this his drawing skill has really improved.

So....we are also super proud of Aiden, our other little artist.

Me & Five Boys

I had planned for one of the boy's friends come to play this afternoon and then thought why not offer to have several dropped off. So it ended up me and five boys. Call me crazy but we had a blast and everyone was so good. They did legos, dress up, chase, bad guy/good guy, stomp rockets, playground, sandbox, animals in trees.....and so much more....wow they were busy.

Chalk Art

We color a lot with chalk, so much that we need some rain so it can wash off so we have some more space. The driveway and then entire back patio is covered in chalk art. I love it! Here are some of my favorite creations.

All Grown Up

When people tell you to appreciate and relish in every moment of your child's life because they grow up so fast. You just don't believe it until you see it. We look at Owen and are amazed that just 5 short years ago he was a gushy little baby and now he looks and acts like such a big boy.

Today when we were driving back from school, Owen was telling me about his day and while stopped and glanced back and had to smile and how handsome my big boy looked. I of course had to get a picture. Love how he is sitting; so mature.

Dinosaur Slippers

We have never owned slippers but after so many kids wore them to PJ day at school, the boys were interested in getting some. Of course, I said not thinking that out of season. After some trial and error, we found some on super sale that were matching and in their sizes. Yippee! They love them and I have to say they are super cute.

Closet Art

We were painting today when Owen decided he was going to paint his handprint in every color. He then decided when they were dry he wanted to hang them all over his closet, and the best part is he placed them on the creases so we would have to cut them. He loved that they were together and then apart.

Robot Craft

This morning Owen was in the bathroom getting a floss out when he ran in our room to announce that he was going to use the floss picks and some other materials to make a robot. Then he said he wanted to make 5 of them to match the ones on his PJs. Love this kids creativity.

So Owen and Aiden gathered some items and began making their robots. It was a lot of fun and always enjoy when my boys show their creative side.

Aiden's 3 Year Stats

Aiden had his 3 year old check up this morning and as usual he was flirting with all the women and being super cute. The doctor said he looked perfect; but of course. He has met or surpassed all the milestones and proudly I can report he has finally made it on the weight chart. However he dropped on the chart for height. He is still our spunky, strong-willed, little boy.

Weight: 27.3 LBS, 8% (last year: 22lbs 15 oz <5%)
Height: 36 in, 16% (last year: 34.5 inches 50%)

Here is a cute story from the doctor's office:Aiden was reading the Little People Christmas book. He says,"Mommy what is under this one (a flap)?" "What Aiden," I say. The picture is of a jack-in-the-box, so Aiden with the flap down starts to make the "dun, dun, dun, dundundun" sound with even pretending to move the handle and then opened the flap and yelled,"Jack in the box!" The doctor and I were cracking up; that kid is so cute!

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

All week at school the boys have celebrated Dr Seuss. Today they got to wear PJs to school, meet the Cat in the Hat and of course made hats. They were so excited for all of it.

Now for my cute story of the end of my day....Owen wanted to read all Dr Seuss books in honor of his birthday. After he was tucked in, he came into my room to tell me (and I will try to get this as close as I can), "Mommy, tomorrow I want to cut out all the planets like I have and you can tie a string on them and then I can make a card and take it to Dr Seuss for his birthday. We need to tell him thank you because I love his books so much." This conversation continued to inform me that we need to look at a map to find where he lives, something about a craft like they did at school that we need to make him, wonder if he could like the Cat in the Hat game, does he have any kids or toys, he wants to make wrapping paper with white, black and red stripes, and make sure he signs it Owen Aru so Dr Seuss knows it is from this Owen. He ended with, "I have a very busy day tomorrow!" Seriously love this kid's ideas.

School Playdate

Aiden's classmate's mom was in a bind and asked if I could take her son home after school for a little. I of course was happy to. Aiden and even Owen were so excited when I picked them all up. Owen was so sweet and was showing Aaron around and all the toys. Aiden was just super excited to have his buddy over. They enjoyed a picnic lunch, but mostly ran around outside in the gorgeous weather.
