Last time I took the boys to DC, I saw an IMAX movie I really wanted to see and thought the boys would love. So this time I didn't want to miss it. So off we drove across town to National History Museum to the IMAX. We found amazing parking right on the mall and while walking across Owen spotted the Capitol and very excitedly announced, "Its the American!" We informed him it was called the Capitol and he wanted to take a picture to show his pictures. And then began the picture obsession. This is not the first time but this time he was so in to it and got some great shots. It was adorable to watch him choosing what to take a picture of.
Then to the IMAX to see Born to be Wild. The boys loved the 3D IMAX. Owen kept saying how cool it was and how the animals were right in front. Aiden was a little concerned by the very large glasses and kept lifting them up and down. He loved the movie and sat still for the whole 45 minutes. It was about elephant and orangutan orphans and how these women have raised them to go back to the wild. It was so cute and really touched all our hearts. For the rest of the museum Aiden pretended to be my baby orangutan; guess he really took to the movie.
Then the boys wanted to see some of the museum, so we looked at the oceans and dinosaurs and then back to the Mall. Owen took pictures the whole time. We really enjoyed our day in DC and did not get home until 4:00; big perk of no nappers.
