Two Peas in a...

....Bed!

I was changing sheets and Owen jumped in and wanted to be covered. Then he called for Aiden to come snuggle with him. The boys had so much fun playing under the covers.

Christmas Decorating

We all put out the tacky Christmas lawn art, which means Omer and I set everything up as Owen acted as director. He came up with this title on his own and took it pretty seriously and directed us where to put everything. He even went to the sidewalk to get a full view and opinion. Hilarious!

But while Omer was gone at the football game, the boys and I decorated the house. Owen was beyond excited and really helped me take things down and put everything in its place. Aiden honestly could have cared less until he saw the snowman swinging thing. But he was happy to play while we worked.

Once the stockings were hung, Owen wanted to pretend to be Santa and fill them all up. We played this game for quite some time.

Then in the afternoon we made some ornaments.
These scratch ornaments were a big hit. Here's Owen's Gingerbread Boy

Then he had to take a break to get a big mouthful of pumpkin pie
Then we took the ornaments down to the small tree in the basement
Owen was great at hanging all the ornaments

Second Thanksgiving

I had my side of the family over to celebrate Thanksgiving without all the fuss. No turkey, just some other tasty dinner items. There was delicious pumpkin pie that Owen was very excited to see. He told us that "Other than toys I am thankful for eating pumpkin pie with Aiden." Too cute! It was nice to have my family together as it often doesn't happen. The kids were so excited to see their cousins and seriously we barely saw Nicholas and Owen except while we ate. They had a lot of fun playing together. I tried a kids table out this year and minus most of the kids barely eating anything, it went really well. Owen was super excited to have a special table and insisted in sitting by Nicholas. Aiden didn't seem fazed until he kept seeing Omer and wanted to sit with his Daddy. It was also nice to just sit with adults and carry a conversation.

Cousin Michelle made the kids these awesome owl cupcakes. Aiden enjoyed one for snack.

Aiden Went Potty

Aiden peed on the potty twice!!!! Here's the story...I thought I smelled a poop so I asked Aiden if he pooped. Then he ran to the bathroom and said "poop potty" Um okay. So I ran upstairs to fetch the little potty from the storage closet and Omer got him ready. He sat and tried, but nothing. Omer read to him a little, just like we did for Owen. Nothing happened but we were surprised and proud. Then Omer and I left to go shopping and Babaanna came and watched the boys. I had told Omer he was going to pee while we were gone and he did. Sad we missed his first but when we got home he was so proud he ran and went pee again. Still very shocked our little 21 month old went pee on the potty by his own choice. Not sure whether to go full force and potty train him or just let him play around with the concept.

Happy Thanksgiving

We celebrated with Omer's family this year and it was just wonderful. The gathering of family was nice and the food was delicious. At first the boys were a little timid because there were several new faces but they opened up and became their lively selves. As expected Owen didn't eat a thing at dinner and Aiden ate a little and then wanted to run around. When asking Owen what he was thankful for he responded, "Toys!". We kept trying to get another answer but they all revolved around things to play with, but I guess we have to be realistic and to a 4 year old playing with his toys is probably the best part of his day.

On Thursday Owen told me he wanted to make cards so he did two for Thanksgiving, one for Becko and one for Babaanna. The only part I did was write Happy Thanksgiving.

At Becko's Owen and Karem played an old game he used to play as a kid.
Owen loved it and it was nice to see Karem smile.
Aiden enjoyed eating lots of fruit

Karem and Aiden took a break to read.
After the boys gave up on Thanksgiving dinner, they enjoyed a plate of crackers, fruit and nuts.
Then the crazies came out and the boys started running around the house.
They had so much fun!
They would stop and "hide".

Turkey Hands

Aiden has been taking a class at Wee Play and has loved the art projects. He got to make turkey hands with a lovely little poem. Happy Turkey Day!

School Picture

We got Owen's pictures weeks ago but of course it has taken me some time to scan and post them. Well here they finally are. I tried to get him to wear a nice polo shirt but for months now he won't wear anything with buttons or a collar. He says he doesn't like to wear "fancy shirts" Oh well still think he looks smiley and adorable!

Owen's First Play

I took Owen on a little date to see his first play, The Happy Elf. The play was adorable and fun to watch. Owen got excited for many of the parts and was engaged and interested in it the whole time. He also was beyond excited to go on a date with me. He doesn't get a lot of time with just me anymore so the time is special and appreciated. We had a wonderful morning viewing the arts and now he wants to go see Rudolph the play too.

Exercises

Aiden is a very active little boy and today out of nowhere decided to some exercises.

Mountain Climbers (plank position and run your feet in to your stomach)
Cobra (yoga move lay down and arch back up)
Dangle and Swing...Owen wanted to join but of course he is way too tall

Lego Boys

By now you should know that Owen loves to build with Legos. Well of course Aiden wants to join in and usually this entails him filling up cups with Legos or just moving them around. Well this afternoon Owen wanted to build the tow truck so they sat on the stools together and built away. I was absolutely shocked that Aiden could put them together and he built a little car, that he was extremely proud of. Owen and I started to follow the instructions for the tow truck, but after a couple steps and not being able to find pieces, we went rogue and built our own tow truck. Both boys are great at Legos and always a fun activity.

Walk, Push, Run, Jump

When Aiden and I take the pups on a walk, he makes it about halfway in the push car before requesting "Down!". So then he gets out and walks the rest. I love watching him walk and he is such a little force.

Strolling Along
Then he wanted to push his car.
When he would get stuck in the grass, Mr. Independent insisted on righting it himself. He did!
Running
He loves to jump and he has started to jump over the lines in the sidewalk.
