Farm Waterfall

I have heard from a couple people about a hike to a waterfall at Frying Pan Farm. Finally got around to checking it out today and it was a great time. We all, including Chester, went to the farm and visited all the animals. The boys love the place and had fun showing Daddy. Chester did great until the rooster crowed. Then we headed to find the waterfall. There are supposed to backpacks with nature kits that you can borrow but we were too late and the store was closing. I was planning to grab a map but forgot so we went in and hoped we could find it. I have to be honest that I am not the best at finding places on the roads, but in the woods I am very resourceful. I found the waterfall and we had a great time. Owen searched for snails and found a ton. Aiden enjoyed jumping from all the rocks. Chester loved playing in the water. We all loved the view and the waterfalls were peaceful and beautiful.

Net Fishing

When it is warm out we really enjoy going down to the creek. If you read this blog you already know this and have seen many pictures, but still one of our favorite activity. Nice walk for boys and Chester and so much fun to hang by the creek. Now Owen has been very interested in fishing so he brought his big net and the first day he caught five little fish and today he caught eight. He was beyond excited and so was I. He was great about it too. He'd catch one, gently get it out of the net, show Aiden and I and then let the fish swim back home. I am guessing we will spending lots of time down there this summer. Aiden as always had fun splashing in the water and throwing rocks.

Ice Cream

Both boys have taken a strong liking to ice cream, like real ice cream, not popsicles. We were at our friends house and they all asked for ice cream. All four sat next to each other and enjoyed the yummy frozen treat on a very hot spring day.

Spring Break Trip

We headed down to Greensboro to visit Grandma and Grandpa. It was a great trip; enjoyed spending time with them, experiencing wonderful museums and events, and for us some long day naps. After a long car ride, we enjoyed some outside play and exploration of their new house.

The next day we headed to the Children's Museum and just like last time had a blast. Owen's favorite part was the plane, where he and another boy pretended to fly and explore. Aiden's favorite was the big trucks and blocks. But both boys also really loved the dress up area, which was so cute to watch them. After naps we headed to Greensboro College's pool, good to know the President. The boys had a blast at the pool. Lots of splashes!

The next day we headed to the Science Museum, by far our favorite place. We explored the bugs, dinosaurs, reptiles, fish, and then the outdoor zoo area. The zoo area is fantastic. Once again the tiger strolled right along the glass so we were face to face. We got to see monkeys, lemurs, meerkats, turtles, farm animals, wolves, etc.

Along with all that the boys later enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and a walk to a great playground. Chester and I hung out with the boys as they played and played at the park while the rest watched the hockey game and made Easter dinner.

The day got busier, we then headed to the Greensboro Grasshoppers game. They have a fantastic minor league team and we were curious if the boys would enjoy it. The game went past bedtime, but we stayed an hour and then headed home with two very tired boys. However, so happy we went, the boys loved the game. Owen was very interested in learning and following the cheers. Aiden liked watching the game and then exploring the stadium. The best part was the bat retrieving dog and ball racing dog.

Giddy-Up

The boys climbed on Omer and took a ride. Owen is wearing his helmet from another game he was playing before; it was not a safety issue.

Silly Owen

Owen and I were playing Lego Bioncles and out of no where I did something that just made he burst into laughter. I got the camera to capture his laughter and I did but then he of course had to put on a show and be super silly.

Attack of the Werewolf

Babaanna gave Owen and Aiden some of Omer's very old costumes. One of them is a werewolf and Owen loves to wear it and be super scary. This afternoon he got all dressed and attacked me, with his dinosaur sidekick Aiden. It was a lot of fun. Then he practiced his werewolf roars.

What to Wear

Owen never had an opinion on what he was wearing until last fall. This includes no jeans or polo or button shirts. He says they "are too fancy". So he only wears t-shirts and sweat pants. Guess he likes to be super comfy. He also LOVES to wear his PJs. We went clothes shopping the other day and Owen picked out some dinosaur camo PJs. He put them on, got his green antennas and pretended to be a lizard. This game went on for a long time and many different stories.

Aiden has surprised us with a very strong opinion on what he wants to wear as well. As he wears all of Owen's old clothes we don't often get him new stuff. But as I said Owen had no opinion at 2 what he wore so his wardrobe was filled with super handsome polo shirts, but Aiden insists on wearing shirts with something fun on them. He pitched such a fit this morning about his shirt Owen solved the problem by letting Aiden wear Owen's monster truck shirt. Aiden was stoked! So I broke down and got him some more "fun" shirts to wear. He is a happy boy now.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood holds a free Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids. It is great fun and love that it is close by. Aiden was tired so a little grumpy but after seeing the kids start to grab eggs he was all about gathering eggs. Not shocked but Owen was quite ready for the race to get eggs. It was a nice egg hunt experience and the kids enjoyed the activity and of course the goodies.

Owen saw an older boy put his bucket on his head, so of course impressionable Owen had to copy.
