Big Boy Bed

Aiden has been talking about a big boy bed and Owen has been really excited for his brother to get one. Tonight after I read books Aiden announced he wanted to sleep in his big boy bed. Eek, because it was not together yet. But we didn't want to lose his excitement, so the boys played in Owen's room while Omer and I quickly put the bed in his room and moved the other furniture around. It didn't take too long. We left his crib in there because we have to take it apart to get it out of the room.
Aiden was so excited, he jumped in, pulled up his cover and was ready for bed. He looked so cute in that big bed. And Owen was so excited for Aiden. He kissed him and told him good night and then wanted to be the one to cover him up and close his door.
He stayed in there quite a long time and then decided to climb out and come get me. He wanted to change his PJs, something that happens almost every night. While I changed him I asked how he liked his big bed. He responded, "I like it but a little scary." Awe, poor thing. He asked to sleep in his baby bed. Glad we still had it in there. So he slept there all night. Curious how the next couple days will go, but guessing his crib might be in there for a while.

Dentist for Two

Owen had a cleaning dentist appointment today and while he was doing a great job during his cleaning, Aiden sat next to him and asked "I do it? I brush teeth?" I told him not today that we will do his when he turns three, but the dental hygienist told me that they have a little time if we wanted to try. Aiden listened carefully and yelled a big yes. He did amazing. Sat so still, let her brush his teeth, floss and pick. And then let the dentist take a look. He definitely has learned a thing or two from Owen.
The dentist report for Owen: no cavities (yippee), right side bite has corrected itself a little (yippee) and all his 6 year molars came in (what? never noticed this). Oh and he has a very tiny chip in one of his teeth, which yet again we had no clue. Guess it didn't hurt that bad.
The dentist report for Aiden: very clean and no cavities, he has all 20 teeth (which he loved her counting), he has an open bite from pacifier use (boo, hopefully will correct itself a little once we yank it away), and he has a narrow bite which is either from pacifier use or hereditary. We will have to watch that as he ages and hopefully won't have to correct. First dentist experience: excellent. Everyone was doting on how small and cute he is.

They wanted to ride together so somehow they squeezed in this car that is meant for one toddler. They loved it and had fun driving together.

Dress Up

The boys love to play dress up and today Owen made himself a turtle by putting on his green suit, then attaching a "shell", and then he went to find his antennas but couldn't find them but came back with green tissue that we taped on his head.
Aiden got in the pumpkin costume and then attached red bandannas on his legs. Still not sure what he was but it was super cute.

Halloween Decorating

The boys have been getting excited about Halloween approaching, but never thought this would happen. Omer came home from work and Owen asked him to get the box of Halloween stuff from the attic. We did and could not allow ourselves to decorate the front lawn so we let the boys decorate the backyard. They LOVED it!!!! And really they did a great job and it was super cute. We have a direction sign and Owen put it in the middle of the yard and just so happens, without reading the sign before, decorated the rest according to the sign. We had a Haunted House, Graveyard and Goblin Gulch (which we don't have pictures of). Halloween has begun in our house (at least in the back).

YAY for Fall

The weather this morning was glorious fall weather. Both boys were so excited to get out in the cool weather. And when Owen looked and saw some leaves had fallen he squealed, "Mommy, let's rake a pile of leaves!" Of course, so we raked a pile, played in the pile and then repeated. It was a blast and I never tire of seeing this every year. Both boys were throwing up leaves yelling, "Yay for Fall!"
Pile Jumping
Aiden mowed the leaves
More pile jumping
"Yay for Fall!"
Throwing Leaves
Aiden Leaf Smiles
Then the boys rolled around the leaves
Owen tossed leaves on his head; Aiden was curious what he was doing.
Then the boys made leaf angels.

Owen's 5 Year Stats

Our doctor is quite popular in the area and hard to get appointments so Owen's 5 year appointment was just last week. The doctor says he looks amazing and reached or passed all needed milestones. He did well with all the tests, well at least all you could expect from a tired 5 year old. He did absolutely, horrifically terrible with the two shots he got. He was screaming in hysterics before she even cleaned his skin off. I had to use all might to keep him still and I am not stretching the truth when I say it took me over 10 minutes to calm him down. Not looking forward to shots.

Owen still proves to be very tall and slender.
Weight: 39.6 lbs (39%)
Height: 44.75 inches (80%)
BMI: 13.9 (6%)

Just Like the Dogs

The boys love their dogs and love to pet and also play with them. It is very sweet to watch them bond with the dogs.
Callie and Chester love to play tug of war.
Owen was reading a magazine and Chester jumped up and laid next to him
Then out of nowhere Chester laid his head on Owen's butt, super cute.
Owen has a lot of fun playing tug of war with Callie and then catch.
Then after dinner, the laughter began when Aiden grabbed a dog toy in his mouth...
...and then Owen wanted to play tug of war.
Aiden used his hands to try to get the toy.
We could not stop laughing and the boys were playing fair and hard.
