End of the Year Musical

It was Owen's last year as a Corduroy Bear and we are sad to not have his wonderful teachers and classmates anymore. Owen has grown a lot this year and has really enjoyed his class and all its activities and friends. We enjoyed a performance based around baseball. It was super cute. Owen started out singing and doing the hand movements, then when it was time for his class song he sang but kept his arm up the whole time. He told me later he was cheering for his team. Too funny! And very sad that my video camera ran out of batteries for his class song. After a picnic lunch with friends we went back to his class to get his certificate and booklets. Over the year they had a handprint artwork for every month put in a book, it was adorable. Farewell to a wonderful year of school. (Note: camera not great in the darker room so pictures a little grainy)

Bionicles

About a couple months ago we found Bionicles. They are made by Lego and pretty much just warriors you build. Owen loves them, and I mean loves them. They are played with quite a bit and Aiden even enjoys the pretend play. Today while Aiden napped, Owen and I built and built until there were barely no more pieces left. Some are "correct" and the others are our creations.

Slip-N-Slide

I got an old slip-n-slide at a yard sale the other week and was excited to pull it out once it got hot today. Owen took to it right away and after got the hang of it was going down quick and splashing at the bottom pool. He was having a blast!! Aiden was a little unsure, but enjoyed playing the spray and jumping though it with me. I got him to go down with me once, but that was it. I am sure next time he'll try it, he seems to always want to wait the first time out.

Cutest Moment

It was time for Aiden's nap, so I asked if he wanted Daddy or Mommy to read him books. He replied, "No!" So I jokingly asked, "Do you want Owen to?" With super excitement "YES!". Owen ran up the stairs excited with his new job and Aiden waved bye to Daddy and was running up the stairs.

I went up stairs as well as I knew Owen would not be able to do everything, to find him looking for the diapers and Aiden willingly laying in his diaper changing spot. Owen told me to leave that he wanted to do it. I replied of course he could do it but I will need to stay to help a little. He changed his diaper, put his shorts back on, and then went to the reading spot. Aiden picked out his two books and handed them to Owen. I left the room at this point to allow them their moment, but of course I eaves dropped. Owen "read" the books as Aiden sat quietly listening. It was so adorable! Then Owen called me in to help Aiden in his crib. There was a "thank you" from Aiden and a "good night" from Owen.

There are really the moments us parents live for. It was so precious.

On a Safari

It has been raining off and on all week, so while Owen was at school, Aiden and I enjoyed some playtime inside. He decided he wanted to play safari and pulled out some animals, lined them up, and then marched them to the jungle and piled them up. I enjoy watching Aiden have an opportunity to play his own game instead of what Owen is playing. As the younger brother he often wants to do whatever Owen is doing, but he is so imaginative on his own and cherish his little games.

Chester's Friend

We all still miss Chloe a lot. I am honestly surprised that after months the boys still talk and ask about her. Owen today decided that Chester needed someone to snuggle, so he put our stuffed dog in Chester's spot. Chester went right in to his spot, under the kids play table, and laid with the stuff dog.

Insect Boy

Year after year Owen proves to still be our little nature boy. I love it and enjoy our daily nature adventures. Today we went to the field and found a caterpillar and then a small green flying bug landed on Owen's hand.

Vacation to Marbella, Spain

My hard working husband won a trip with his company for an all expense paid 6 day trip to Marbella Spain. I was super excited, and of course Omer was too, as I have always wanted to go to Spain. The travel was long and stressful, but so worth it. Spain was gorgeous and we enjoyed our relaxing vacation. Thanks so much to Grandma and Jenni for taking care of the boys, who from the report did great for such a long period of time without one of us.

The trip was spectacular; we enjoyed the beach and sun, the wine and food, gorgeous architecture, breath taking views, trip to Ronda and Rock of Gibraltar, energetic night on the town and club until 4 am, and of course rest, relaxation and some time just for us.

We were so excited to return home though and was welcomed with huge hugs and kisses and a recap of everything they did. I think Owen hugged me for 30 mins when we first arrived and both Aiden and Owen just kept occassionally giving us hugs and telling us how they love us. Welcome return!

Reston Zoo Trip

Mother's Day weekend was beautiful weather and being we were heading out for a week away on Monday, we wanted to do something special with the boys. We headed to Reston Zoo with the Gomez'. It was Kai's first time there so the boys had fun showing the ropes. As always the boys enjoyed feeding the farm animals and seeing all the different creatures the zoo has to offer. Then we went on the wagon ride and had the emu VERY close to us and the African cows with their insanely large horns are always a favorite. It was a wonderful trip to share with our kids and friends.

Volcano Jumping

While in Greensboro we went on a walk and Owen saw a "volcano". Then the boys enjoyed jumping off them. Today on our walk they found one and enjoyed jumping from the flowing lava.
