Welcome Halloween

Aiden has been waiting for Halloween season all year long. Literally he talked about it every day. So it is October, and we decorated right away. He was so excited and both boys took full force on decorating and choosing where things went. It was a lot of fun and then the boys continued to play in their newly decorated Halloween yard.

This is the Graveyard, notice Aiden behind the fence

Decorated the front stoop with pumpkins galore and Owen dressed as a bat.

Okay then the boys gathered some sleep gear and wanted to take naps in their haunted stoop

There has been more and more added to our front yard of Halloween Fun, so I will have to take some more pictures of the new items too. Another day!

Every year we head to Meadow Farms Nursery, it is free, small, lots of fun and we get our pumpkins. It is perfect. And surprisingly from all the large ones we have gone too, Owen told me he LOVES this place. They slide, run through the spooky bus, bounce in the jump house, climb on hay bales, and of pick out pumpkins. We had a great time at our first pumpkin patch stop.

Addie's mom is across country and we signed up to help with Addie. I pick her up every Tuesday from school and today as it was raining our playground plans were ruined. So I braved it and chose to take the to Chuck E Cheese. First must explain that I have led the children to believe that CEC is for only birthday parties; white lie that works for us. But we went and the boys and Addie were so excited. Let me also say that we have only been to the Dulles one and every time they have a great time, it just can get so crowded and dirty.

Okay enough already, we went to the Herndon one and was nice and clean and quite empty. We had a blast! The kids ran around and played game and game, giggling and cheering. I can not believe I am going to write this but I might just go back again.

Yes, back to the Halloween decorations. This has been a playtime portion of every day.

Aiden is looking like such a big boy

Owen has been asking to run a 5k, I was about to sign him up for the Oktoberfest one but when time came Owen wanted to do the mile costume one. Aiden asked to run as well. So we figured we would give him one more chance.

I was prepared to have them wear costumes but Owen told me he could not his best race in a costume, so we went for Halloween shirts and orange hair. Aiden wanted his colored and then got very offended and washed it off immediately; so head strong.

Owen rocked it!!! I was so proud of him. He ran the whole time at a steady pace. He finished in about 10.5 minutes.

Aiden and poor Daddy walked all of it. Aiden grumpy, Omer bitter. I saw them walking to finish so Owen and I ran back so that Aiden would run the finish. So this is Aiden's last mile run until he is older. The problem is he wants to run with Owen, but Owen is obviously faster. Then Aiden gets upset and in true Aiden style is unbearable. The sad thing is if he just did it for himself he would do awesome, he has run that far many many times. So this was his last for awhile.

Then we took them to the Oktoberfest carnival. They rode all the rides and loved doing it together. Love the brother bonding over carnival rides.

Our friends met us there as well and the thrill seeker Owen C rides the super fast big swings which made Owen wanted to try them. He said they were awesome and he loved it and then told me he was a little scared. Look for the bright green shoes...
