Owen has been asking to have a sleepover since before the summer. I asked who he wanted to come and he responded "ADDIE!" So we finally found a date that worked for everyone and sleep over began. They both were so excited with the anticipation on her sleeping over here.
The whole family came over to have dinner and play first. Then off they went with hugs and kisses for Addie. Aiden kept asking if he got to sleep in Owen's bed, and then is Sylvie was going to stay with him, and the if Addie could sleep in his bed. Poor little guy wanted to be involved, but when I explained that he was just too young, he actually took it with no problem.
We read books altogether, tucked Aiden in and then the silly sleepover began. Owen was super sweet though because he picked out the one girly book we have, a My Little Pony book, to read and then wanted the nightlight switched to pink and even tucked her in once.
At first they were a little silly, jumping over the lighted robot and doing silly moves and falling in the bed. Then they started to calm down and took the robot lights and discussed the planets on Owen's ceiling and made shadow puppets. Then even more calm and laid there and just talked about everything for 45 minutes. Their conversations were so cute. Then I went in tucked them in one last time and told them to go to sleep; it was 9:45 pm. They did and are now sound asleep; so very sweet.
Now here's hoping it is a quiet night and they sleep in after being up so late; fingers crossed.
