The Beginning of the End of Summer

With a busy June and July, we decided to keep August very laid back and just hang out at home with friends, enjoy our house and toys and of course the pool. It has been a nice month so far and can not believe that the month is half over.

This past weekend we had a dual sleepover with Evan and Spencer. The little's were excited mainly because this is obviously Aiden's first. They went to bed very late so the little boys passed right out and slept all the way through and woke at a good time. The big's were so excited. They played with flashlights until pass 10:00 when I told them they had to sleep. Owen listened but Evan is a night owl and was up until midnight and woke at 7:15 in the morning. I was shocked. It went well and all four boys enjoyed their sleepover.

Owen has loved going hiking every week with me and the pups. I love the company and alone time with Owen. He was excited to sit in the back with both dogs.

Camo Boy with Stick Gun

We took a really long hike today and stopped off at two different spots on the Potomac River; Owen loved it!

He loved climbing over all the rocks

Callie enjoyed the river as well

Super Silly Dance

Aiden is obsessed with Bionicles and plays them the majority of the day. Our house is primarily Bioncles and Legos...all day. We have spent several days building an army of by-the-book Bionicles and our own creations. We are proud that Aiden has become quite the master. He can follow the instructions and build one on his own but also loves to create his own.

Aiden made this red and blue guy

Aiden built all the guys!

Owen made a little pet

Then Owen built his own creation...very cool

I watched a friend's kids for a morning and while Owen and Jack played Lego's pretty much the whole time, Aiden the werewolf was getting a vet check-up by Dr Jane.

Neighborhood hike with Owen. He loves to climb this fallen down tree. He reminds me of Mogli

He came home with gathered nuts and set up a little snack station for the squirrels

Beardy has grown quite a lot. Today while he was out playing with Owen we fed him his lettuce and mealworms.

Our friends got a new puppy, Murphy. He is so cute and Callie loves to play with him. They are perfect match. They chase, wrestle, tumble, etc. Chester enjoys an occasional play but mostly sits back and gets all the love from me and Heather

Owen has been waiting all summer for his favorite nature camp. This morning he dressed in all camo, his nature vest, lizard backpack full of all his nature gear. I have always loved his enthusiasm towards nature and animals!

Furry Brother and Sister

Aiden was making a nature scene and then hammed it up for the camera.
