Goodbye Summer

This summer has been so relaxing, fun, travelled, and the boys have bonded so much in the past months. I love their relationship. Just as the past weeks we have been doing the same, pool, friends, fun summer outings, etc. And now are preparing for the new schedules and routine that school brings. However I think we are all sad to see summer end.

We celebrated Chester's 8 birthday!!!!

We had a visitor come from the pond. Aiden wanted to do a little dance and Owen took care of the turtle and watched to make sure it was safe. He followed behind him while he navigated until it went into the bushes of our neighbors.

Enjoyed a summer picnic lunch

A bit cooler but luckily this week warmed up a tad and we got to spend some time at the pool with friends. At first Owen was timid about swimming with his neck, so he wanted to just float around and play bumper boats.
After Aiden jumped, swam, dove and more he got cold and wanted to drive monster trucks in the kiddie pool.

As always there was some dress-up action. They are different ninja's

And with the cooler weather, we enjoyed some chalk drawing. Owen made a haunted house and Aiden was in charge of decorating the outside of the house with spooky monsters.

Owen drew a pumpkin weather vane on the top of his haunted house

Owen even included a Gremlin in his house

Then Owen created a game of having to run through three different courses and not stepping on any creatures. It was cute to watch

Little Chalk Footprints

Owen gave Callie lots of love after we got back from the pool. He called me over to take a picture

We enjoyed a birthday party at the pool for a close friend. Aiden ate all his cake, of course, and got a black tongue from his yumminess.

Owen and I attended the school's open house. We got to meet his teachers, some classmates, and he got to explore the room. He was so excited and did not want to leave. He of course had to be silly when I wanted to take his picture.

Owen has been doing a lot of biking and he really wants Aiden to learn too. So we pulled out the little bike, but sadly Aiden still gets frustrated and can not push the pedals too well. He still had fun sitting and having mommy push him around while Owen biked.

Owen and Omer built a rocket and we all headed to the school's open field to set it off. Man, did it go high. Our neighbors also came along and set off their rockets too.

Running to catch the rocket falling

We also celebrated Daddy's birthday. The boys made a banner with Lego stickers and Owen wrote Happy Birthday Dad. Sadly you can not see the writing in the picture.

Daddy was surprised

The boys also made him a gift...
It is a pencil holder made with ocean stickers
Aiden also made a Ninjago Picture for Daddy

For his special dinner I made lamb chops, steaks and corn on the cob. Both boys actually loved eating the meat off the lamb bone. Owen gave up half way and LOVES to eat his corn on the cob. Aiden on the other hand, sucked that bone dry...just like Daddy. Then they had to be silly with their leftover bones.
