Family Pool Fun

The boys and I made it to another pool earlier this week with some friends, but today was our first family trip to our own pool. It was a perfectly hot, sunny day for the pool and everyone had fun. Once again, Owen loved the kiddie pool and had fun pretending to swim, run around, splashing and playing games. We went to the big pool but he only would stay on the stairs, so hopefully soon he'll continue from where he was last year and go in the big pool where he can walk. After a slight hesitation Aiden too loved the pool. Really enjoyed running in the pool and stomping his feet. He also enjoyed getting pulled around the big pool. I am looking forward to lots of pool days this summer.

Memorial Day BBQ

Our friends in Frederick hosted a family friendly BBQ. We had a great time with friends, ate yummy food, and enjoyed watching our kids all play together. Lilli's mom brought a pool for the kids to play in on a very hot day.

Spring Musical

For Owen's last day of school they held a spring musical. I have to say it was comical and proved that Owen does not have the performer spirit. He would occasionally do the hand motions and sing, but lots of yawns and looking around. And during his classes song his bag broke because he was playing with it, so wait to see him clap with a bag hanging. Good stuff. Enjoy the video. HaHa

Then we went back to his class for them to receive their certificates. Aiden was quite antsy at this point and enjoyed running circles around the tables. Owen enjoyed chasing after them. They both had huge smiles and laughs. Then Owen's friend, Andrew, joined in and freaked Aiden out.

Butterflies, Slugs, Ants and Worms

Owen is ecstatic about summer coming because more and more insects are surfacing. His love of insects from last year is still there and many of days we search for bugs. He makes homes for them to live in for a day or two and then will put them back.

This morning he caught a painted lady butterfly. Butterfly Studying

Owen wanted to share his find with Aiden, and called him over. Aiden rushed over and was excited to see there was something flying around.

Then he found the biggest slug I have ever seen and put it in his already made worm and beetle home.

Owen wanted Aiden to sit with him and show off his slug. Aiden was very curious and pretty good about keeping his hands out.

Then we found a huge nest of ants. I think all the white were eggs they were moving, but not sure.

And of course our favorite is worms. Owen finds them and then gives them to Aiden. Aiden loves having the worm slither all around his hands.

Aiden and Chloe

Aiden has begun to love the dogs and can't say how much this makes me smile. He loves to pet them, snuggle them and play with them. He will bring them their toys and throw them for a game of fetch. Both Chloe and Chester enjoy that. Chester however does like anyone snuggling on him, but Chloe enjoys it. Today Aiden climbed on the sofa to play truck with Chloe and give her snuggles. My heart melts every time.
