Happy July 4th

We had a wonderful day celebrating July 4th. We started our morning with the neighborhood parade with fire truck led parade and popsicles afterwards. Aiden was insistent he wanted to push his dump truck in the parade but did not want to decorate it. Report: he made it about 2/3rds in and then I carried him, the dump truck and held Chester's leash. Owen on the other hand was super excited to decorate his bike and did an awesome job. He even told me he wanted to keep it like that. He biked it all with his friend. Afterwards we were all hot and right there at the pool, so I quickly got our stuff and I took the boys to the pool to cool off. It was a great morning celebration.

Then in the afternoon we headed to our friend's, Craig and Erica, for a pool party BBQ. It was a lot of fun and of course spent a good chunk of the time splashing and swimming in the pool. Omer and I enjoyed some fun with friends and the boys enjoyed the party as well. It was their first time with a sparkler and Owen was a HUGE fan, asking for another immediately after his burnt out. Aiden did it once and then lost interest until Mr. Craig started to put them in his monster truck. (Sadly I didn't get that photo)

After we got home, we bailed on our original plans to keep them up until 10 pm to watch the Herndon firework show from the school nearby. But we set off some leftover fireworks from last year in our yard and the ran around and caught fireflies. The boys loved the fireworks but I did have to earmuff Aiden's because "too loud, just too loud". At bath Owen told Daddy, "It was a very special day."
