About a month ago, we drove by the fire house Owen had his 2nd birthday party, and he requested "Mommy, let's have a fire house playdate." Sure! So I set it up with my mom's group and there was a great turn out. Owen was very excited and when one of his friends would show up he'd run over and say something of the sort "At the fire station. Fire Trucks, firefighters." Excited!
One of the firefighters put all the gear on and then let the kids come up and shake his hand as many kids can be scared of a firefighter in full gear. Owen was reluctant at first but then after I did, he was happy to shake his hand and then check out his helmet. Then was off to drive fire trucks. I think one of Owen's favorite parts was going potty where the fire fighters do. :) Then we all went over to the playground beside the station. It was a very fun morning.
