Owen likes to grocery shop. This is something that makes my life easier, it is not a horrible activity for him. He is happy to sit in the normal cart (we have faced those horrid car carts twice...UGH!), gets to chomp of a donut or cookie and loves to talk about everything we get. He will reach back there and help put it on the conveyor belt too.
Well today he decided he wanted to play kitchen which quickly turned into filling up his shopping cart. We would pick up the food and name it and toss it in. Then he announced "Okay Mom, follow me to check out our food." It drove his cart to the table in the foyer and began to line them on the shelf to check out. We got one of the baskets to put the bought food in. We "scanned" every item and then he paid me for it. Then he told me how the man puts the bags back in the cart, so he put his bought food basket back in his cart. This really made me laugh. Then "Let's take it to the car and back home." He chose to drive his cart to the jeep with a wagon and picked two items (it's all that would fit) and drove it around. This imaginative, role playing was a lot of fun.
Camera somewhere else so I didn't catch much of it but took some snapshots from the Flip.
Shopping cart with food basket, the table on he left was the conveyor belt and he moved the ottoman over for some reason to set aside the items that he chose are not ones to scan, such as fries and ice cream.
